Permanent magnet levitates above a superconductor (YBCO)

The maximum radial forces are 4700 N, resulting in a magnetic pressure of 6 N/cm² (axial 13 N/cm²). The bearing consists of about 5 kg melt textured YBCO which enables to levitate 1000 kg. The magnetic levitation efficiency approaches a surprising 1: 200 value.
